Cade Dillard scores $5,000 USMTS victory at Mason City Motor Speedway
Joining the national touring stars for the holiday weekend, Cade Dillard rolled into Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) on Thursday afternoon for the 33rd-annual Show-Me 100 with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
With a stacked 49-car field signed in, Dillard raced to a runner-up finish in his heat and started seventh in the $10,000-to-win opener where he would record a Top-10 finish in 10th.
Finishing 13th in Friday's $10,000 preliminary feature, Cade locked himself into the $75,000 finale on Saturday and landed a 13th-place outing after 100 laps.
Dillard closed out Memorial Day weekend with a visit to Mason City (Iowa) Motor Speedway on Sunday evening for a United States Modified Touring Series event.
Charging from fourth-to-second in his heat race, Cade started fifth in the $5,000-to-win main event and slowly made his way to the front. Dillard outdueled Rodney Sanders in the closing laps and took home the $5,000 payday for his 23rd-career victory with the series.
