Seventh-place finish in Wild West Shootout opener

To kick off the 2022 slate, Cade Dillard invaded Vado Speedway Park (Vado, New Mexico) on Saturday evening debuting in a brand new Black Diamond Race Car for the 16th annual Wild West Shootout. In a field of 31 Late Models, Cade secured his spot into the $5,000-to-win A-Main with a fifth-to-second run in his heat. On Sunday, Dillard followed up the second-fastest lap overall in time trials with a heat race win. Earning the second-starting position for the A-Main, Cade brought out a caution on lap 19 while running in fifth. He did not return.
