Wild West Shootout continues for Dillard at Vado Speedway Park
The Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout at Vado Speedway Park (Vado, N.M.) picked back up on Wednesday afternoon with Cade Dillard competing in his Krohn Farms No. 97 Late Model for the third round of the six-race event.
With 46 Late Models entered, Cade's third-place finish in his heat race placed him on the sixth row for the opener. Breaking into the top-10, Cade gained four spots in the 30-lap affair to finish eighth.
Getting off to a hot start again on Friday, Dillard followed up the fourth-fastest qualifying effort in his group with a runner-up finish in his heat. With $10,000 on the line in the feature, Cade crossed the line in eighth.
For another $10,000-to-win program on Saturday, Cade edged his way into the show with a third-place performance in his eight-lap heat race. Moving forward one spot in the 40-lap feature, Dillard scored an 11th-place outing.
The weekend concluded on Sunday with Dillard qualifying for the $25,000-to-win Wild West Shootout main event via fourth-place finish in his heat and going onto finish 12th in the finale.
Cade ended the Wild West Shootout miniseries point standings in eighth.
